Having a complicated set of posting guidelines violates the very philosophy of a user driven web community, so we will keep the guidelines as simple as possible.
So here they are:
- The language used for posting to this site is English.
- Forums can be created for discussions in other languages. To create a new forum in another language a native speaking moderator is needed. Postings in other languages than English outside the designated forums for discussions in other languages will be moved.
- Postings on politics or religion will be deleted. Please take discussions about these issues elsewhere.
- Postings that are unlawful in any way, including, but not limited to, copyright and patent violations, will be deleted.
- Postings that violate normal code of conduct, e.g. contain abusive language, attacks on others etc. will be removed.
- Postings that are totally off topic, that has nothing to do with science or environmental issues at all, will be deleted.
- If a user repeatedly violates these guidelines the system administrator will issue a warning. If the user continues to violate the guidelines the system administrator might choose to close down the user's account.
- Acts of sabotage of contents, hacker attacks etc. will lead to the immediate termination of the user account that was used without any warning given.
- The Wiki is the main part of this web site. All other features should be considered supporting and supplementary to the Wiki. We suggest that new projects are debated a bit in the forums before users starts submitting information about them to the Wiki, but this approach is not mandatory.
- Active contributors are allowed to include a signature in their forum postings promoting whatever business they do in this area. The same goes for personal wiki pages of active members. What we will delete, however, are postings that are pure advertisement and nothing else, unless it is a sponsor of course.
